Student Advisory Council

The College of Arts and Sciences Student Advisory Council was formed to foster a relationship between students and the administration. The council meets two to three times a semester with the Dean, to discuss current issues, future initiatives, and improvement areas for the College of Arts and Sciences. 

Trent Bandre - Mathematics

Trent Bandre is a senior mathematics major from Overland Park. Bandre is also a member of the Pride of the Plains Marching Band at Pitt State. After graduation, Bandre plans to gain employment in the Kansas City area with a data analytics company.

Grace Garrett - Political Science

Grace Garrett is a sophomore political science major (pre-law emphasis) from Topeka. After graduation, Garrett plans to attend law school and work in advocacy law.

Jonah Hensley - Biology and Criminal Justice

Jonah Hensley is a sophomore biology and criminal justice major from Joplin. Hensley is a member of the Pitt State Army ROTC. After graduation, Hensley plans to become a highway patrolman and continue service in the United States Army National Guard or Army Reserves.

Gabrielle Roberts - Music Education

Gabrielle Roberts is a junior music education major (vocal emphasis) from Joplin. After graduation, Roberts plans to obtain an elementary school music position. 

Jason Rowland - Nursing

Jason Rowland is a senior nursing major from Riverton. Rowland is currently employed as a Student Nurse Intern in the OR at Mercy Hospitals. After graduation, Rowland plans to obtain a DNP degree while working as an RN.

Rachel Ruiz - Biology and Chemistry

Rachel Ruiz is a senior biology and chemistry major from Pittsburg. After graduation, Ruiz plans to attend medical school.

Kennedy Tomasi - English and Spanish

Kennedy Tomasi is a junior English and Spanish major from Pittsburg. After graduation, Tomasi plans to work as a copy editor and screenwriter. 

Madeline Valencia - Biology

Madeline Valencia is a junior biology major (premed emphasis) from Shawnee. After graduation, Valencia plans to attend medical school.

Katherine Wells - Art

Katherine Wells is a junior art major (illustration and visual storytelling emphasis) from Wichita. After graduation, Wells plans to pursue graduate degrees in art history and museum studies.

Braden Zaner - Communication

Braden Zaner is a junior communication and marketing major from Raymore, Missouri. Zaner is a member of the track and field team and the Honors College at Pitt State. After graduation, Zaner plans to work at an advertising firm in the Kansas City area.
